Cats can struggle in hot weather, so a few simple changes can help keep them comfortable: • Provide plenty of fresh water around the house • Offer cool, shaded places to rest • Close curtains during the hottest part of the day • Use cooling mats or damp towels • Avoid energetic play during peak temperatures You can also make hot days a little more enjoyable with some cool, cat-friendly treats: • Freeze a little tuna water into ice cubes for a tasty, refreshing treat • Pop Lick-e-Lix in the fridge/ freezer before serving • Add a few treats to a bowl with water and let your cat "fish" them out • Freeze a small portion of wet food in a lick mat for longer-lasting enrichment • Drop ice cubes into water bowls to help keep water cool Keep an eye out for signs of heatstroke, including panting, drooling, lethargy, or difficulty breathing. If you're concerned, contact your vet immediately. We recently visited Felix and Murphy for their annual health checks and vaccinations 💜 Both boys were a little shy to begin with, but by the end of our visit they had really come out of their shells! Thankfully, Lick-e-Lix was a great tool to help win them over, with Felix proving particularly easy to persuade. He showed us that getting his paws on Lick-e-Lix may be his life’s goal 😹 Murphy was much more reserved about his love for treats!
